Photographed by Stefan Kemar Trotman- Yetunde Sapp is a Brooklyn based multimedia artist born and raised in Washington, DC. Her artistic practice ranges from acrylic on canvas, to experimental knitwear, and is constantly evolving- but always comes back to the art of storytelling through materiality. Yetunde's work has become a tool for preservation of self and ancestral lineage. As a black artist, given a long history of erasure in America, it is a powerful thing to be able to shine light on stories often left in the dark, and with the upcoming series of projects she has lined up, she hopes to highlight many.
